Alice Lammer

Alice M. Lammer 101 of New Haven passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020 at Branford Hills. She was born June 23, 1919 at home in West Haven to William and Jennie (Chadwick) Sandford. Alice is survived by her two children, Russell Lammer Jr. (Yvonne) of North Carolina and Audrey Pochodowicz (Paul) of East Haven along with five grandchildren, Matthew Lammer (Christine), Rebecca Calderon (Nile), Kristen Moreira (Eric), Michael Buccieri and Allie Pochodowicz. She is also survived by her six great grandchildren, Victoria Calderon, Nile Calderon, Isabella Calderon, Nicholas Moreira, Zachary Moreira and Mayleah Pochodowicz. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Lammer who passed away 22 years prior on the exact same date of December 8 in 1998, and two brothers, George and William Sandford. Alice worked at the United Illuminating Co. many years ago until she became a stay-at-home mom. She loved to bake like her mom and was always baking something to share with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was raising her children and eventually spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very outgoing person and loved by many. She lived a long fulfilling life. The family would like to thank the staff at Branford Hills for the wonderful care Alice received over the years and a special thank you to Shannon during mom’s final days. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a graveside service on Tuesday, December 15 at 1:00 PM in Whitneyville Cemetery, 1200 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Funeral services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Old Stone Church Building Preservation Fund, 251 Main Street, East Haven CT 06512 in memory of Alice Lammer.
