On Sunday, November 22nd, Daniel Quinlan, husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 60. Daniel was born on April 3rd, 1960, in Wyandotte, MI to James and Katherine (Harms) Quinlan. He received a double bachelors in Industrial Design and Interior Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1984, and he designed appliances with Whirlpool for 28 Years. On September 30th, 1989, he married Krysten Quinlan. They raised two daughters, Anne and Megan. Daniel had a great appreciation for art and a keen eye for design, which could be seen in his many contributions to Unisys’s computation systems and Whirlpool’s refrigerators throughout his time with the companies. He had a love for old cars stemming from his father, and thanks to his daughters he developed a hobby of playing video games, in particular enjoying World of Warcraft with them. He was known for his patience and kindness, along with being the best at dad jokes. Daniel was preceded by his mother, Katherine and younger brother, Thomas. He is survived by his father James, his wife Krysten, his two children, Anne and Megan, his brothers Steven and James, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to the Industrial Designers Society of America’s Design Foundation. Donations can be made at https://www.idsa.org/designfoundation .
