Ronnie Clay Bates

Ronnie Clay Bates, age 72 of Martin, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born July 28, 1948 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Clyde & Lillian Johnson Bates & Ruby Bates. He was the husband of Mary Alice Ousley Bates. He was a retired mine foreman. Along with his wife he is survived by his Daughters: Brittany (Jay) Samons of Martin, Kentucky, Vicki (Bo) Slone of East Point, Kentucky & Rhonda (James) Chaffins of Martin, Kentucky; Grandchildren: Jayce Samons, Bristol Samons, Kaiser Samons, Jaide Ousley, Cameron Ousley, Morgan Chaffins, Jamie Chaffins, Logan Chaffins & Brody Chaffins; Great Grandchildren: Kinzley, Lillian, Caroline, Paige, Brooklyn, Chase, Emily, Kashton, Waylon & Hank; Brother & Sister: Jay R. Bates of Prestonsburg, Kentucky & Karen Johnson of Crittendon, Kentucky. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his Brother & Sister: Jerry Bates & JoAnn Jonson. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Visitation Monday, December 7, 2020 at 6pm at the funeral home and all day Tuesday Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 12 noon at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky with Jeremiah Swiger officiating Burial will follow at Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville, Kentucky
