William Guy Jefcoat, 68, of Linn, MS went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 5, 2020. A visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2020 at Linn Baptist Church in Doddsville, MS. Interment will immediately follow at Linn Baptist Cemetery. William was born on July 22, 1952 to William and Arlin Jefcoat. He was raised in the Linn community where he was a farmer and an insurance agent. William married the love of his life Melissa Staggs on May 28, 1972. They were happily married for 44 years. He was a Christian and attended Linn Baptist church where he served in many areas. William was a deacon and treasurer for the church until 1996. He later served as a deacon at Plantersville Baptist Church until he moved to the MS Gulf Coast in 2019. He spent his free time at Gore Springs fishing and playing golf. More than anything, he loved God and his family. He is preceded by his parents, William Elmer and Arlin Pearl Jefcoat; sister, Sandra Annette Jefcoat. William is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Ann Jefcoat; daughter, Casey Johnson (Lee Jay); son, Jake Jefcoat (Jennifer); grandchildren, Dylan Cook, Allie Down (Cruz), Hanna Jefcoat, and Jude Jefcoat; great grandchild, “My Little Girl” Kinzleigh Down; brother, Glen Jefcoat (Debbie); sister, Mary Bean; and 7 nieces and 2 nephews.
