Jimmy Frank Hicks, 72, busted through the gates of Heaven on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Frank and Myrtle Hicks. He was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Hicks and a dear cousin William Redman.

He was an avid fisherman who collected numerous rods and reels. He spent countless hours in Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas. He was a Jimmy of all trades having jobs including training show horses, CSX Railroad, Blythe Construction and Encore and Star Electric. He loved to watch and attend all forms of racing. Jimmy was known for his crazy custom T Shirts. He cracked corn and he didn’t care.

He is survived by his wife of over 49 years Karen Hicks, 2 children Randie Rollyson and husband Andy and Jamie Hicks, 3 granddaughters Marti Childers and husband Justin, Kaylyn Carson and husband Jayson, and Dru Rathbun and husband Mark, grandson Jeffery Hawkins, a brother Billy Hicks and 6 great grandchildren that he adored.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hicks will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at New Life Baptist Church in Stanley. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
