Thomas Leon Cavey

Thomas L. Cavey, Jr. of Linthicum, MD/Lewes DE went to be with the Lord surrounded by the love of his family on December 4, 2020. He was 89 years and the devoted husband of 65 years to Mary R. Cavey. Born in Baltimore, MD to the late Thomas L. Cavey, Sr. and Irene (Kroeger) Cavey. He was the loving father of Michael T. Cavey (Danielle), Diane M. Bohn (Vincent), Patricia A. Reeves (Mike), Joseph A. Cavey (Vickie), Anne L. Cavey Hinton; adoring grandfather of Sarah Miller (Justin), Jacob Bohn (Jordan), J.T. Cavey, Sean Cavey, Cody Reeves (Kate), Austin C. Bohn (Jenna), Raleigh Cavey, Koda Cool (Kristen), Ryder Cavey, Abby Reeves, Lane Cavey, Alex Burgess, Grace Hinton, David Burgess, T.C. Hinton; cherished great-grandfather of Adalynn Miller, Wyatt Miller, Cameron Reeves and Eliza Bohn. He was predeceased by his sister Rita Walsh. Mr. Cavey graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, where he ran track. He also played sandlot football. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy, became an Electronics Technician and served aboard the USS Massey during the Korean War. Upon his return from service, he was employed with Westinghouse Corporation and eventually obtained his Electrical Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University. He enjoyed his Western movies, fishing, and wildlife. He was an athlete at heart and a fan of all sports, but especially enjoyed whatever sports his children and grandchildren were participating in. In Lieu of flowers, friends and family may make contributions in his memory to Mount Saint Joseph High School, The Endowment Fund, 4403 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 or Amedisys Hospice of Greater Chesapeake 5014, 7106 Ridge Road, Suite 140, Rosedale, MD 21237. A traditional Mass is being held on September 19, 2021, at Mount Saint Joseph Monastery, 3801 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, MD 21229 at 11 A.M., all are welcome to attend with the family. A celebration of his life and reception will be immediately following Mass and will be held in the cafeteria of Mount Saint Joseph High School, 4403 Frederick Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229.
