Mildred Chavis
<p>Mildred Ann Chavis, 87, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, December 4, 2020.</p><p><br></p><p> She was born January 22, 1933 in Pastoria, daughter of Bennie and Emma McBurnett Young.</p><p><br></p><p> Mrs. Chavis was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School in 1951. </p><p><br></p><p> She worked for the Pine Bluff Glass Company for several years as a bookkeeper and later in the Dollarway School cafeteria.</p><p><br></p><p> Mrs. Chavis was a member of Hardin Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.</p><p>Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Chavis, whom she married November 21, 1951 in Pine Bluff.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Chavis had no immediate survivors.</p><p><br></p><p> Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel with Brother Johnny Taylor officiating. Visitation will follow the service at Robinson and Fuller. Burial will be private.
