Elizabeth Joan Schmitt
Elizabeth Joan Schmitt, 98, of Hagerstown, Md. passed away, Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown. Born February 1, 1922 in Camden, NJ she was the daughter of the late, John and Joanna (Gurick) Coyle. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Schmitt on Nov. 13, 1982. Elizabeth had work for the New Jersey School for the Deaf and was a member of Deafnet Association. She is survived by her sister, Joan M. Valentine and husband, Jacob; two nieces, Linda Eikelberger and Susan Gearhart and husband, Jeff; one nephew, Jacob Valentine and wife, Darlene. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Deacon William Nairn officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to Coffman's Nursing Home, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.Obituary
