<p>James W. Van Deventer, 88, of Brazil, Indiana, fell asleep in death on December 2, 2020.&nbsp;<br /> Jim was born on August 16, 1932, to Lewis and Evelyn (Woods) Van Deventer.&nbsp;<br /> On December 29, 1951, he married Patricia Ann Schlatter. In just a few days they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.&nbsp;<br /> Jim was manager of the Terre Haute UPS<br /> location until he moved on to join his father-in-law in the television repair business, later known as Jim&rsquo;s TV Repair.&nbsp;<br /> He enjoyed the outdoors immensely, as could be seen in the way he kept his property.&nbsp;<br /> Jim was baptized, as a symbol of his dedication to Jehovah God, on March 8, 1997. &nbsp;He was a proud member of the Forest Park Congregation of Jehovah&rsquo;s Witnesses.&nbsp;<br /> Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Roland and Everett Van Deventer; father and mother-in-law Ulrich and Blanche Schlatter; brother and sister-in-law William and Emma Angleton; great-grandson Braden Rusk, as well as great-nephew Joe Officer.&nbsp;<br /> Jim is survived by his loving wife; children Don and Karen Strege, Denny and Sharon McCullough; grandchildren Mason and Stephanie Rusk, Dustin McCullough, Jazmine Render and Symone Newport; great-grandchildren Quade Rusk, Grady Rusk and Reece Render; nephew and nieces Robert and Debbie Officer, Linda Angleton, as well as great-nephew Kevin Angleton.&nbsp;<br /> Private graveside services are being planned by the family.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;</p>

James W. Van Deventer, 88, of Brazil, Indiana, fell asleep in death on December 2, 2020. 
Jim was born on August 16, 1932, to Lewis and Evelyn (Woods) Van Deventer. 
On December 29, 1951, he married Patricia Ann Schlatter. In just a few days they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. 
Jim was manager of the Terre Haute UPS
location until he moved on to join his father-in-law in the television repair business, later known as Jim’s TV Repair. 
He enjoyed the outdoors immensely, as could be seen in the way he kept his property. 
Jim was baptized, as a symbol of his dedication to Jehovah God, on March 8, 1997.  He was a proud member of the Forest Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
