Ethel Carleen Deloney, 71, passed away December 3, 2020. She was born in Decatur, Alabama on October 10, 1949 to the late George Sr. and Naomia Clay McCroskey. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church, Mother of the Century, and Hospice of Chattanooga Volunteer. She loved spending time with family, making jewelry “Ethel’s Creations, working 5,000 jigsaw puzzles with family, she was funny, intelligent, a woman of GOD, a loving mother, grandmother, friend and companion. She loved Shirley Ceasar, Mahalia Jackson, Pokey Bear, cooking turnip greens and gardening. We will forever cherish her! She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 35 years, Lenell Hardy; son, DeCarlos Deloney; brother, George McCroskey, III; sisters, Ruby Dozier, Diane McCroskey, Gail McCroskey. Survivors include her sons, Luster Deloney, Jr., Christopher Deloney, Depriest Deloney; daughter, Terell Dollmont; sisters, Gertha McCroskey, Reba McCroskey, all of Chattanooga; brother, George McCroskey II, Huntsville, AL; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; cousin, Tanga Richie; friends, Curley Ann Holloway, Mrs. Alonso, Faith Garmany; special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga, Jolene Singletary, RN and Savannah, CNA; a host of other relatives and friends. Public viewing will be from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the funeral home.
