Beverly A. Baird Obituary

Beverly was born on February 12, 1957 in Harrodsburg, KY to Henry J. Grall and Conchita (Brashear) Grall. She passed away on December 2, 2020 at the age of 63 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. She was remarkably kind, tender and compassionate. Her children, Jason and Evan Baird, benefited greatly from these wonderful traits. Beverly was a clinical psychologist in private practice in Downers Grove for many years. Untold people were helped by her wisdom, kindness, empathy and warmth. She gave out terrific hugs to a lot of people. She was a woman of faith and was very soulful. She loved gardening and could do this for hours. She also was a voracious reader, weaver and she could make terrific casseroles seemingly out of nothing. She loved entertaining young children at the many parties she hosted over the years. She was married to Keith A. Baird on July 23,1988 and they enjoyed a deep connection to one another even on her death bed. They shared a spirit of adventure, dancing, travel and more than anything else, they loved to talk about human nature, psychology, faith and their love for one another. Beverly is also survived by her sister, Connie Davis of Cincinnati, OH, brothers and sisters in law, her father-in-law, many nieces and nephews, lots of cousins and extended ‘kinfolk. She also leaves behind some very long-term deep friendships. She loved so well and, in turn, was so well loved too. Beverly was diagnosed in 2011 with early onset Alzheimer’s. She embraced this disease with so much grace and patience. She benefited from the presence of three wonderful caregivers in the home (Donna, Judy and Margaret) before she was transferred in 2019 to The Auberge in Naperville, a memory care facility. There will be two memorial services in 2021 when it is safer to congregate in large numbers – one in Hinsdale, Illinois (hinsdalecovenant.com) and a second one in Anderson, SC where Beverly will be laid to rest next to her Granny Grall. Donations can be made in memory of Beverly Grall Baird to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.Alz.org)
