Sandra Kay Renegar

Sandra Kay Renegar (Doss), age 74, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10, 1946 in Muncie Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Reeoma Williams Doss. She graduated from Cowan High School in Muncie Indiana. She also attended Ball State University for Liberal Arts. She was a New Castle resident for most of her life. She worked for Indiana Gas Company for nearly 20 years in sales and owned The Hog Shop with her late husband Tom Renegar. After taking an early retirement to spend more time at home with her children following her late husband’s passing, she embarked in a family business, Auto Images with her son. A few years later she took on another venture, The Saloon Tavern in New Castle, she was the owner and operator for nearly a decade before retiring. She was a pioneer for women entrepreneurs. She was well known for her always open door and open heart. She had a special gift of making everyone feel at home and at ease in her presence. She thrived when she could prepare and share a meal for everyone that walked through her door. She was a loving, nurturing mother to three children although she nurtured many more. She was revered as a “second mom” to many. She was passionate about music and loved being with friends and family sharing the emotions that listening to music invoked. She was notorious for listening without judgement and being the home base to many. Left to cherish her loving memory include her three children, Bruce Glaser (wife, Amy Shoopman-Glaser), Angela Glaser-Poor and Leisa Clancy; five grandchildren, Samantha Poor, Sage Davis, Madison Glaser, Lauren Penrose and Sady Young. one brother, Fred C Doss Jr. and one sister, Janice Darnell. She was preceded in death by her mother, Reeoma Doss, her husband, Thomas Renegar and her father, Fred C Doss Sr. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street with Pastor Eric Boling officiating. Friends may call 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday December 5, 2020 prior to service. The funeral directors and staff are honored to serve the Renegar family.
