Laura Sue Lauer, 76, of Springfield, IL, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village, Springfield. Laura was born on July 24, 1944, to Louis and Dorothy Lauer of Lincoln, IL. Laura lived most of her life in Springfield, IL and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources where she was a Senior Land Acquisition Analyst. Laura loved to read and spend time with family and friends. She was a beloved sister and aunt and will be an angel in heaven watching over all her family and friends. Her memory will carry on through her surviving family, sisters Janice (Lauer) Mills, Nancy (Lauer) Seguin, Debbie (Lauer) Daugherty; brother-in-laws Terry Mills, Jim Seguin, Bill Daugherty; nieces and nephews Marc (Nicky) Saries, Jeff (Andrea) Mills, Heather (Chris) Ward, John (Sarah) Seguin, Brian Seguin, David Seguin, Jennifer Daugherty and Scott Daugherty. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life is planned for July 2021. Memorial donations can be made in Laura’s name to Safe Haven Hospice, Springfield, IL or the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
