Kari Davis Howe went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on November 29, 2020. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her husband Dan and her dogs. Kari was born in 1957 in Rolla, ND. She spent her early childhood in North Dakota surrounded by her Davis cousins whom she considered as close as sisters. As a child, she moved around Montana with her family as her dad took on different road construction jobs. As a result, she made and kept friends from all over the state. Her family moved to Big Timber to stay in 1968 and there, she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dan. They were married in 1975 and acquired Howe’s Sunnyside Eggs in 1978. Kari and Dan worked side by side in the egg business for over 40 years before retiring in August of this year. The joys of her life were her Jesus, her husband, her kids and grandkids, her brothers, and her dogs. Kari took God’s command to “love your neighbor” to heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a comforting meal to those around her. She was known for her amazing cooking, her hospitable and generous home, and always being a constant prayer warrior for those she loved. Community was very important to her and she always created a welcoming oasis in her home for friends, family, and neighbors to stop by at all hours. When visiting her, guests could always count on a cup of hot coffee, a piece of pie and a welcoming smile. Kari also believed the truth that love covers a multitude of sins. She loved her family and friends with unconditional love and without reservations. She raised her kids with love and understanding, always supporting them in all their life’s ventures. Just as she never held back her words, she also never held back her love, even if she disagreed with someone. It was because she loved so quickly and easily that Kari had such a special connection with her dogs, who loved her back unconditionally. She used to say that the closest thing to God’s love is a dog’s love. Kari joins her parents Jim and Lucy Davis and is survived by her husband Dan, children Adam Howe, Jennifer (Anant) Mohan, and Andrea (Jerod) Houghtelling, and her grandchildren Phoebe and Leah Howe, Julian Mohan, and Aleena, Justus, Emmalee, and Isabel Houghtelling. She’s also survived by her brothers and their spouses - Jim, Brian, Clayton, Jeff, and Darren Davis.
