Vernon G. W. Pinter Obituary

Vernon G. W. Pinter, age 78, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (December 1, 2020) at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with his family by his side. He was born on March 12, 1942 in Plymouth, WI, a son of the late Harvey and Merlet (Gessert) Pinter. Vern attended Tomahawk Grade School and High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-1964 on the USS Wasp CVS Aircraft Carrier during the Cuban Missile Crisis. During his time in the Navy he earned his GED. On February 26, 1977, he married Kaye Schneider in Plymouth, WI. He worked at Kohler Company for 33 years until his retirement in 2004. Vern enjoyed camping, hunting, watching movies, socializing, drinking martinis, taking care of his cars, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Kaye of Plymouth; three children, Tanya Pinter of Florida, Amanda Pinter of Plymouth, Matthew Pinter (Fiancée Heather Strobl) of Appleton; eight grandchildren, Tony, Luke, Jake, Makenzie, and Makayla Fellows, Ryley Pinter, Crystal, and Kayla Pinter; brother, Butch (Becky) Higgins of Sheboygan; and sister, Terry Higgins of Tomahawk. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Pinter; and father and mother-in-law, Clem (Mary) Schneider. A celebration of Vern’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, with a time to share memories and stories at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth and Military Rites will be conducted by the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243. Please wear a mask and practice proper social distancing.
