Obituary

Esther M. Micucio, 90, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

Esther was born in Wilmington, Delaware and grew up with her three sisters and a brother.  She graduated from Wilmington High School and worked as a bookkeeper until she married Carmen Micucio and had two children.

Esther was a person of strong faith and often enjoyed sharing her time and talents helping to give comfort to others.  She and her sister, Betty, made many trips to area nursing facilities to visit and brighten the days of others.  She especially enjoyed hosting her annual Christmas dinner with her sisters, Mary, Betty and Martha, as well as Aunt Clara.  She leaves us with many wonderful memories of her love for us, her dedication to our interests, holiday dinners and Christmas cookies.

When the grandchildren came along, Esther was always there with Easter baskets, birthday gifts, and a mountain of Christmas presents.  She was happy to enjoy the birth of Rose, her great granddaughter in 2018.  She always had a big smile when Rose would come to visit her.  Esther also loved gardening and cherished her beloved dogs, Beau and Rusty.

Esther is survived by her two children, Sharon Shone (Michael) and Carmen Micucio Jr. (Carol); her two grandchildren, Rachel and Mickey Shone; her two great grandchildren, Rose and Colton Shone; her sisters, Martha Grabowski and Betty Syvy.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Alexander; her brother, Joseph Lobozzo.

A private family service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Esther may be made to the Delaware SPCA, 455 Stanton Christiana Road, Newark, DE 19713 (www.delspca.org).
