On December 1, 2020, Joanne Myers, 83, passed away peacefully at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. She was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas J. Myers, Sr., and Esther J. (O’Brien), and dear sister of the late Thomas J. Myers, Jr., and his wife Mary K. Myers, all of Arlington, MA. She is survived by loving nieces and nephew MaryAnn Bradley of Franklin, MA, Maureen Welch and her husband Rob of Snowflake, AZ, Thomas J. Myers, III, and his wife Karen of Yarmouth, MA, great nieces, Mary and Colleen Myers, and great nephew, Rob Welch. Joanne was a graduate of Matignon High School and Regis College, and she was an active alumna of her alma mater. Her meticulous attention to detail served her well in her roles as a teacher, principal, and federal and state Director of educational programs. Her lifelong passion for teaching and education presented her with the opportunity to meet, instruct and mentor many wonderful people. Having resided in Arlington her entire life, and most recently a resident of Brightview in Arlington, Joanne leaves behind numerous friends and extended family members with memories of a life well lived. For many years, she could be found spending her summers, weekends and then retirement in Dennisport, MA and at the West Dennis beach, which was her definition of the most perfect place on this earth. Joanne enjoyed literature, theater, art and fashion. Her love of costume jewelry and accessories was well known! She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. A private graveside service will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington.
