Obituary
Gene “Stubby” Ray Zeigler, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the early age of 65 on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Born in Orangeburg, SC to the late Willie Lee and Ruth Rast Zeigler, he was 1 of 5 brothers. He and his brothers were raised in St. Matthews, SC, where his Aunt Rosa became a huge influence in his life.
Gene leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Janet Zeigler, who he loved and adored; their beloved dog, Bear; his daughters, Angel Brazell (Jayson) and Lindsay Hurd (Mike); two brothers, Glen Zeigler (Karen), and Bobby Zeigler (Hope); seven grandchildren that were the light of his life, Jessica, KayLee, Summer, Paisley, Braxton, Brayden and Evan; two great grandchildren, Addy, and Jackson; and many nieces and nephews, who he loved like his own. Gene was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Bruce Zeigler.
Gene was a man who was loved by so many and was taken too soon. He was the most loving, kind-hearted, family man. He loved to make people laugh, and had a joke for every situation. We will all miss our daily text from him saying “What up today?” and all of the love he shared. He will be truly missed by his loving family, more than he could possibly know.
So as we close this chapter of his life, and he begins a new one in heaven with our Lord and Savior, we wait until we are reunited. He will never be forgotten.
In loving memory of
Gene “Stubby” Ray Zeigler
“Put your quarter in.”
