Donald (Don) Alfred Melcolm, 86, of Sebastian, FL passed away at his home on November 29, 2020. The son of Douglas and Lillian Melcolm was born on July 5, 1934, in Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1957. After his time in the Air Force, Don worked as a civilian for the US Navy Printing and Publications for over 30 years. While working full-time, he went to Rollins College, where he received an Associates of Arts degree at the age of 42. After retiring, Don and Ellie enjoyed cruising and going to casinos. He also enjoyed fishing, being near the water, and spending time with his family. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jacob (Jake) Melcolm, and his stepson Phillip (Flip) Petrone. Don is survived by his wife, Ellie; his daughters, Kim (Ted) Gunther, Karen (Tom) Cary, and Donnette Melcolm; his stepchildren John (Naida) Petrone, Jim Petrone, and Ann Petrone; his grandchildren Teddy (Janice) Gunther, Tiffany (Shawn) Hutchinson, Morgan Gunther, Austin (Meghan) Gunther, Phillip (Jasmine Laboy) Petrone, Melissa Petrone, Christopher Petrone, and Alessia Petrone, and his great-grandchildren Madison, Jackson, Addie, Holden, Hazely, Hudson, Oaklyn, Gracelyn, Alexia, Skylar, Addison, Hannah, Isabella, and Jayden. He was interred in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.
