Barbara Ann Kowalski MILTON, Ontario Obituary

Barbara Ann Kowalski

Barb passed away peacefully with her loving daughter Sharon by her side on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at St. Andrew's Terrace, Cambridge. She was born in Milton. Never straying far from her childhood home, she lived in Nassagaweya township. She loved music (especially 50s rock), playing cards, doing puzzles, and travelling to Florida in retirement. Her home was always filled with music and a wide array of kids: her daughters, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood kids. Known as Aunt Barb by most, fond memories were made. As one recently stated, “she was such an important part of our childhood, helping to raise us. We would sit at the kitchen table while she made pancakes on the griddle and she would trim beautiful peonies from the garden to take to our teachers.” But when she got tired of all the arguments, she would shout “outside now, I need some peace”. In her final years, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her heart and soul. She (and Dad) also loved a good party. The pig/corn roasts became almost an annual event. Pitching a tent was a must because the party would go till all hours of the morning. It was essential that all the neighbors be invited because noise was the name of the game. The work it took to put together such an event was tremendous, but anyone who attended would have to agree that “fun was had by all.” She will be missed and remembered by many. If life is measured by the impact you had on others, hers was a life well lived. Private cremation has taken place and A “Celebration of Life” will take place in the spring. If desired, memorial donations in lieu of flowers to C.A.S.H.H. (Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills) would be appreciated by her family.
