Vinson Vernon Shank

Vinson Vernon Shank (Vince), 64, of Boonsboro, passed away on November 30, 2020 at his home in Hagerstown. Born December 11, 1955 in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Orville Shank, Sr. and Catherine (Nalley) Shank. He was a senior in the class of 1974 at Boonsboro High School. Vinson was employed by Washington County Water Quality until his retirement. He was previously employed by Ott Horticulture and Seal Coating. He always enjoyed landscaping work and found pleasure in working in his yard. He also loved being at the Drag races at Mason Dixon Dragway from a very young age, luckily very near his home. He loved playing his stereo and relaxing. Even though he did not do it often, he had artistic abilities and enjoyed painting and painted with his Granddaughter, Jasmine. Some very dear friends made him happy with their visits. He is survived by his sons, Marshall Shank of Hagerstown, Spencer Shank and wife Erica of Mercersburg, PA. (Cheryl Shank-Johnson). Daughter Kaitlyn Shank and son Timothy Shank of Martinsburg, WV (Rebekah Harris Gander). Vince was also survived by three sisters, Mary Cosens and husband Mike, Faye McCoy and husband Ronnie, Marjorie Leatherman and husband Clair Lee; Five brothers, Edward Shank, Sr., and wife Janet, Herbert Shank and wife Laura, Dale Shank, James Shank, Sr., Allen Shank and wife Barb, as well as one granddaughter, Jasmine Shank of Greencastle who made him very happy with her visits. Wife Barbara Shank (Separated). And many nieces and nephews, including Darlene as his favorite. Vince was preceded in death by sister, Patsy Shank; Three brothers, Orville Shank, Jr.; William Shank, Sr., Dennis Shank, Sr. The family will receive friends and family for an Open House style visit to share stories and life memories of Vince at Chewsville Community Center, also known as HA Lewis Community Hall, 11735 White Hall Rd., Smithsburg, on December 5, 2020 from 11AM to 3PM. Due to COVID-19, wearing a mask will be expected. Due to restrictions, no refreshments will be served. Online condolences can be made at www.rsthvn.com.
