Thomas J. Gingrich

<p>Thomas J. Gingrich of Englewood, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the age of 76. &nbsp;Tom was born in Greenville, Ohio on December 16, 1943, to the late Kenneth &ldquo;Ging&rdquo; and Juanita Gingrich.</p> <p>Tom graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1962. He continued his education on athletic, academic, and political appointments to The United States Naval Academy, where he played football and earned a degree in Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering (a.k.a.&ldquo;rocket scientist&rdquo;) in 1966.&nbsp; After graduation, Tom was stationed in Honolulu and served as a Lieutenant on a nuclear submarine during the Vietnam War.&nbsp; Tom returned to Ohio to raise his family and worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), where he was the Chief Branch Officer of the Propulsion Laboratory. Tom received his Master of Engineering Management from the University of Dayton while working at WPAFB.&nbsp; After retiring, Tom enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, playing golf, and watching Ohio State football. Tom was a humble man who was successful in everything he did. His accomplishments were only described by those who knew him. Those who had the opportunity to know Tom understand that words cannot adequately describe his qualities.</p> <p>Tom was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister JoAnn Gingrich. &ldquo;Pops&rdquo;, as all his grandchildren referred to him, is survived by the love of his life for over 55 years, Lynn (Hamler) Gingrich; sons Brad (Jennie) Gingrich, Matt (Shirley) Gingrich, and Mike (Danielle) Gingrich; grandchildren Tommy Gingrich, Katie Gingrich, Taylor Gingrich, Reese Gingrich, Leah Gingrich, Lizzie Gingrich, and Nate Gingrich; sister Janie (Roger) Felch; brother-in-law &amp; sister-in-law Mark and Becky Hamler and sister-in-law Shirley Nixon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who all loved their Uncle Tom very much.</p> <p>Given the current pandemic, no visitation services are planned at this time. The family is planning a celebration of Tom&rsquo;s life this spring through a golf gathering. Details will be forthcoming. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton, and messages of sympathy may be left for the family at www.hale-sarver.com.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by check in memory of Tom Gingrich to the American Legion Post 707 (200 National Rd, Englewood, OH&nbsp; 45322) or the&nbsp;Northmont Education Foundation ( 4001 Old Salem Rd, Englewood, OH&nbsp; 45322).</p>

Thomas J. Gingrich of Englewood, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the age of 76.  Tom was born in Greenville, Ohio on December 16, 1943, to the late Kenneth “Ging” and Juanita Gingrich.

Tom graduated from Milton-Union High School in 1962.
