Donald V. Price Salisbury, Maryland Obituary

Donald V. Price

Donald Void Price, Sr. departed this life at eighty-four (84) years old, peacefully and comfortably at his home on Tuesday , December 1, 2020, with his son Donald, Jr., and daughters Margaret and Cecil Simms at his bedside. He was born on December 7, 1935 to the late Ida Rebecca Price and Paul Johnson in Snow Hill, Maryland, where he was raised and lived his entire life. Donald received his early education through the schools of Worcester County, Maryland. A graduate of the class of 1953 from Worcester High School, he was employed by various jobs throughout his early life. On April 1, 1963, he began work as a heavy equipment operator for the Worcester County Roads Commission in Snow Hill, Maryland, retiring on April 1, 1993, after thirty (30) years of service. Donald was a lifelong member of Hutts Memorial Chapel. Until his wife Willie Ann’s health began to fail, he attended quite regularly. Then his own health started to fail. This did not stop his contributions to his church. That was something on which he stood firm. In the early days of attending Hutts for years, he “pushed” that mower to up keep the church grounds whenever he knew there was need. He loved his church and church family dearly. Donald, affectionately known as “Don”, will be truly missed by all. That subtle smile, that laugh “Tee-hee-hee”, that was him. When he departed this life Tuesday December 1, 2020, a wealth of knowledge went too. If he met you once and you told your parentage, he could take you back two or three generations of your family tree - on both sides!!! In 1962 he was Joined in holy matrimony to the late Willie Ann (Matthews) Price, whom he loved and cared for until her passing. To this union, six children were born. Donald’s survivors now are: five children who will cherish and share precious memoirs of him—Tyrone Blake of Salisbury, Maryland and Norman Price, Donald Price, Jr., Margaret Price and Miriam “Lisa” Price, all of Snow Hill, Maryland; a grandson whom he raised as his own, VeShawn Price, Sr. of Milford, Delaware and special “grand boy” Brandon Price, whom he raised as well; his faithful, special granddaughter, Ashley Price, whom he also helped raised and had a special place in his heart as she lived with him for years after adulthood; thirteen (13) grandchildren; sixteen (16) great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Norma Eure of GA; special nieces, Lynn Smith, Valerie Parris, Linda Beasley and Ida Gillespie; special daughters, Tonita Walters and Sharon Fisher whom he thought lovingly of and called his own; his special “Sons” whom he loved as his own, Terry Milbourne, Larry Douglas, Cecil Simms, Melvin Fisher and many, many more. They were always there at the drop of a dime to do things that he needed . This was golden to him. He loved you guys one and all. Our Daddy, Donald Price, Sr. was the greatest thing in the world to us. Daddy, we all love you and hated to see you leave, but you will always and forever remain in our hearts. We Love You Daddy ~ God’s speed !!! Until we meet again. Donald was preceded in death by his brothers Elwood and Linwood Price, his daughter who passed in May of this year, his oldest daughter, Dona Elaine Price, and his eldest niece, Betty L. Nelson, whom he loved dearly, who passed on December 5, 2020. Sorrowfully Submitted ~ The Family
