Luana J. Holman Coleman-Ring Obituary

Luana J. Holman Coleman-Ring was born on January 2, 1929, in Fountain Green, UT, to Florence J. and James Rees Holman. She passed away of natural causes in American Fork, UT, in the home of her daughter, Cori, on November 29, 2020, at the age of 91. She was the fifth of nine children. In her lifetime, she lived in Fountain Green, UT; Reno, NV; Ely, NV; Provo, UT; Manhattan, KS; Murray, UT; Littleton, CO; and Salt Lake City, UT. When she was younger, she enjoyed taking tap dancing classes with her sister and spending time with her family and friends. She attended BYU to pursue a degree, but had to return home to help with her family. In 1950, she married Ronald J. Coleman and they had five children together. In 1990, she married Roe Ring. Luana worked in the medical field for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed working in her garden, babysitting, and taking piano lessons. She loved helping others and was always thinking of how she could be of service. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and enjoyed attending the temple on a regular basis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mearl, Voin, Maude, Urvin, Don, Shirley, and Sheril, her grandson, Matthew Smith, and her husband Roe. Survivors are her sister, Fae, and her children, Randy (Leona) Coleman, Salt Lake City, UT; Sue (Lynn) Hoppie, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; Karen (Gaylun) Smith, Provo, UT; Lisa (Clayton) Watkins, Highland, UT; and Cori Matthews (Glen Stasinos), American Fork, UT. Her life was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Thank you to Sunrise Assisted Living of Holladay and Aspen Ridge staff for their loving care while she stayed with them. We would also like to thank Inspiration Hospice and her hospice nurse, Kate, for their incredible care of Mom. We are so grateful to Cori for her tender care of Mom the past four months. To Mom’s closest friends who have helped her and have been by her side for years, we truly appreciate you. A dedication of the grave in Murray City Cemetery will be held with her children at this time. A celebration of Luana’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Thank you again for all of your love and support. Mom will be missed beyond measure.
