Carmen Iris Resto

Carmen Iris Resto was born on February 19, 1944 in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico. At the age of 76 she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 28, 2020. At the age of 15 Carmen and her family moved to Wilmington, DE where she continued her education at Wilmington High School. During that time she met her first and only true love William Resto Sr. and they were married on July 10, 1965. Carmen was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where she regularly attended their Women’s retreats. Although her main priority was caring for her husband and children, Carmen was employed with Christiana Care Hospital’s and also with the Department of Elections. In 2002 Carmen and William retired and relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. Carmen will be remembered for her bright smile and for her genuine heart to care for others. Her passion for cooking and dancing will forever be memorable for those who knew and loved her. Carmen is preceded by her parents Luis and Lucia Sierra, her brother Ramon Sierra, sisters Maria Otero and Aida Sanchez, her father and mother-in-law Cirilo and Emerita Resto and her grandson William Ramon Berrios. Carmen is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Resto Sr, her children Aida Resto, William Resto Jr and his wife Candice, and Sheila Resto. Her grandchildren Yvette, Krystal, Juan, Caitlyn, She’Andri, Miguel, Cristian and Brandon. Her great grandchildren Lenny, Ivelianny, Jaylen, Jayceon, Serenity, Aiden, Jayliana and Liam, who she loved and adored with all her heart. She is also survived by her brothers Pedro Sierra Sr (Ramona) and Victor Sierra Sr (Aida) and her sister Olga Collazo (Angel) her sister in law Asunción Sierra, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Carmen is also survived by a host of children that called her MOM. Celebration of Life will be a held on Saturday December 5, 2020 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road Punta Gorda, FL 33950 Between 11:00am-1:00pm
