Max N. Salmon

Max N. Salmon, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Farmington Country Manor. Max was born February 6, 1938 in Tuscola, IL, a son of Thomas O’Neil and Lola (Turner) Salmon. He married Donna L. Krabel on September 28, 1957 in Brocton, IL. She survives. Max is also survived by three children, Juli Palka of Peoria, Dave (Debbie) Salmon of Galveston, TX and Jason (Amber) Salmon of Dunlap, IL, two granddaughters, Madison (Trevor) Johnson and Hannah (fiancée David Philpott) Palka, three grandsons, Mark and Logan Jenkins, and Julian Jordan, as well as two brothers, James (Judy) Salmon and Dwight (Reta) Salmon, one sister, Nancy Mitchell and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kevin Palka and a brother-in-law, Bob Mitchell. Max went to work for Edgar County Marketing in February of 1957 in Paris, IL. He worked for IPLA, Interstate Producer’s Livestock Association, for 43 years, retiring in December of 1999, as a Vice-President of the Hog Marketing Division. Max loved to have family B-B-Qs on weekends and loved to watch the Cubs, Bears, and the Bulls. He also enjoyed NASCAR Racing. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 with Rev. Ethan Carnes officiating. Entombment will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, American Diabetes Association or JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.)
