Frank Raymond Tomlinson Obituary

Frank Raymond Tomlinson, husband and father, passed peacefully, at home, on Monday, November 23, 2020 after a short illness. His wife, sons and loved ones were at his side. He was born in Los Angeles, California on March 5, 1938 to Raymond Owen and Marie (née Peters) Tomlinson. He graduated from the University of Nevada in 1966. Frank took a break from UNR in the early 60’s and joined the Army learning Russian at the U.S. Army Defense Language Institute, at the Presidio of Monterey. From there, the Army stationed him at Berlines Teufelsberg listening station as part of the Army Security Agency. Frank met Ingrid Doris at a New Years’ Eve party sponsored by the UNR International Club. They married in September of 1966. He was hired by Western Airlines in 1966 and spent the next 35 years working for the airlines (Delta and Skywest) where he enjoyed traveling with his family and meeting new people more than anything else. Frank made the best of his retirement years by traveling, skiing, riding his motorcycle, bicycle and getting in as many pickleball games as his legs could handle. He was the biggest kid always. Frank is survived by his wife, Ingrid Doris, and sons, Ray and David. The Tomlinson family asks that friends would donate, in Frank’s name, to the Veteran’s Guest House in Reno, NV in lieu of flowers. https://www.veteransguesthouse.org/donate/ He was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be deferred, at the wish of the family, until the pandemic makes it safer for everybody to gather together.
