Harold Burton Albrecht

Harold Burton Albrecht, age 85, of Metamora, died Monday November 30, 2020. He was born September 25, 1935 in the family home on Turrill Avenue, to Cornelius “Howard” and Nellie Eleanor (Burns) Albrecht. Harold was brought up with 7 sisters and 1 brother at home, and 2 brothers that lived up north. He was a dedicated brother, who took a great deal of pride watching after, supporting and caring for his sisters. Mr. Albrecht was always a handsome ladies’ man, but Eva Fugate was the love of his life! Mrs. Albrecht preceded him in death in 1993. Harold retired from General Motors – Grand Blanc Metal Fab Plant, where he was a jitney and hi-lo driver. Mr. Albrecht was a lifelong proud Democrat…always supporting local and national Democratic candidates. Harold served as the Village President in Metamora for many years and served on the Metamora Village Council for many years. He especially enjoyed traveling, visiting the casino and his annual camping trip to Sutter Campground in North Branch with family and friends. Harold was fun, caring and if you knew him you would say he was a real "smart ass"! Harold is survived by his daughter: Denise (Jeff Hornung) Albrecht-Hornung; grandchildren: Brittany Albrecht-Hornung of Metamora and Parker Albrecht-Hornung of Metamora; “adopted” grandchildren: Gabriela White of Metamora, Angelica White of Metamora, Nicholas White of Metamora, Domonic White of Metamora and Dallas Bowling of Anderson, Indiana; sister: Judy Burleson of Caro; and many nieces and nephews.
