It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Christina Hatcher announces her passing on Monday, November 30, 2020 at home in Burnt Islands at the age of 76 with her loving family by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Burnt Islands, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Evelyn (nee Thorne) Keeping. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children; Debbie (Kenny) Vautier, Lloyd (Queenie) Hatcher, Charmine Hatcher (Ricky Keeping) and Craig (Sherry) Hatcher; grandchildren; Kendra (Curtis) Munden, Mark (Lynnette) Vautier, Paula (Shawn) Kinslow, Lacey Hatcher, Stacey (Dillion) Keeping, Zach and Abby Hatcher, great grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Amber, Jenna, Sophie, Summer, and Lilly; brothers, Jim (Classie) Keeping, Rodney (Winifred) Keeping, Fabian (Claris) Keeping, and Dermont (Tracey) Keeping, sisters, Louise Harvey, Joanne (Jimmy) LeFrense, Velma (Keith) Edmunds, and Merna (Lendy) Vautier, special sisters, Margaret Lawrence, Evelyn Leamon and the Leamon family, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Christina was predeceased by her loving husband, David of 44 years, sister, Virginia Ralph, granddaughter, Lisa, brothers and sisters-in-law, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 2-7 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4 at 11 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, officiated by Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Flowers accepted, or donations may be made to the family.
