Ethel Bruce Scottie Lamb

Ethel "Scottie" (Bruce) Lamb, 88, of South Windsor, passed away at home on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born in New Haven on January 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Emma Kingsland and Stephen McDonald Bruce. Ethel married the man of her dreams Chester Earl Lamb (1929-2005) formally of Fulton Park, Georgia. They lived in Southington, CT and raised two boys, Jeffrey and John for many years before returning to Woodland, GA to live for 25 years. After Chesters death, Ethel moved back to Connecticut for the past 6 years. Ethel worked as a telephone operator early in life, moving up to a supervisory position. She left her career there to raise a family but, later went back to work for Western Electric, a part of the telephone company as an office administrator for several years before retirement. Ethel is survived by her son and caregiver, Jeffrey Lamb and his wife, Linda of Manchester, CT and John Lamb and his wife, Susan of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren, Vanessa (Lamb) Federico and her husband, Rich of Madison, CT, Aaron Lamb and his wife, Jessica of Cromwell, Alyse Lamb and Chris of Brooklyn, NY, Sarah (Lamb) Smith and her husband, Joel of Sarasota, FL and Jodi (Lamb) Davison of Sarasota, FL; and eight great grandchildren, Emma and John Smith of Florida, Juliette and Annabel of Florida, Kason, Julian, Isaac Lamb of Cromwell, CT and Alexa Federico of Madison, CT. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Vivian Lamb of Middletown, CT; her siblings, Robert Bruce of Arizona, Stephen Bruce of Texas and Eileen Barnes of Southington, CT; sister-in-law, Norma Jean (Lamb) Parker of Georgia and several nieces and nephews across the United States. Family and friends may call on Friday, November 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. A graveside service will be held on November 30th at 1:00 pm in Meriwether Memory Gardens in Manchester, Georgia under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Manchester, Georgia.
