Sidney Gerald Austin, 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at home on Friday, November 27th, 2020.

Sidney was born on July 15th, 1955 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Gerald M. Austin and Eveline (Ledford) Austin.

Sidney was self-employed as a carpenter for most of his life. He loved everything about motorcycles and was a fan of Western film actor John Wayne. Sidney cared deeply about wildlife and was an avid animal lover. He will be dearly missed by his parrot Nina, his friend.

Sidney is survived by his two children, Sidney Gerald II, Abigail Nicole Austin, both of McCordsville, Indiana; his three sisters, Cynthia Irvin, Diana Pharis, Lajuana Austin, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; his brother, Brett Austin, of Indianapolis, Indiana; his nieces and nephews.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 5:00 PM until the funeral hour. 

Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health's mandate, all services and visitations are limited to 50 people or less as of November 15th, 2020. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times.
