Ora M. Gooch, 77, of Lyles Station, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born on July 14, 1943 in Vincennes, In to Herschel and Ora (Goins) Joiner. She had lived in the Lyles Station area since 1964 moving from Lawrenceville, IL. She was a member of Wayman Chapel AME in Lyles Station.  She had worked as a coal miner for Amax Coal in Keensburg, IL and was a member of the UMWA Local #1791. She enjoyed the Hallmark Movie Channel and loved visiting with friends and family.

Ora is survived by her husband, Delton Gooch, Sr. of Lyles Station; children, Kimberly Gooch of Winter Haven, FL and Delton Gooch, Jr. (Michelle) of Princeton; stepchildren, Alex Whitehouse of Oakland City, Trenton Gooch of Princeton and Tamiki Gooch of Princeton; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; twin sister, Lora Greer of Princeton; and special cousins that were like sisters to her, Judy Joiner of Evansville and Joyce Williams of Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kyera Gooch; and brother, Clifton “Sonny” Joiner.

A funeral service will be held for immediate family members on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Minister Delton Gooch, Jr. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station. There will be a walk-through visitation from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 mandates, the capacity inside the funeral home will be limited to 50 people at a time to allow for social distancing and masks are required. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Colvin Funeral Homes Facebook page beginning at noon on Saturday.
