<p>Mrs. Ernestine Freeman, a resident of Goodland Ave. South Bend, Indiana passed from this life at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 89.</p> <p>Ernestine was one of twelve children born to the union of Abraham and Luvada (Dismuke) Farris in Altheimer, Arkansas on August 1, 1931.</p> <p>She and Buford Freeman were united in marriage in 1986. They never had children but had a beloved German Shepherd named Duke. They were a common site around the westside of town, as she would walk him everywhere.</p> <p>As part of a large family, Ernestine learned to cook at an early age. She always looked forward to the holidays as she loved to cook for her family. The baking of&nbsp;pies and peach cobblers were a part of her forte. She especially liked meat and it had to have a bone in it!</p> <p>She was a longtime member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful servant of God.</p> <p>Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buford, eleven siblings and her beloved dog, Duke.</p> <p>Left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces, nephews and friends.</p> <p>Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens</p> <p>FACE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE OBSERVED</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mrs. Ernestine Freeman, a resident of Goodland Ave. South Bend, Indiana passed from this life at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 89.

Ernestine was one of twelve children born to the union of Abraham and Luvada (Dismuke) Farris in Altheimer, Arkansas on August 1, 1931.

She and Buford Freeman were united in marriage in 1986. They never had children but had a beloved German Shepherd named Duke. They were a common site around the westside of town, as she would walk him everywhere.
