Charles V. Monaco

Charles V. Monaco, 91, of Salem, NH, passed away November 29, 2020, at Holy Family Hospital with family by his side.  Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Sebastiano and Concetta (Iuvara) Monaco.

Chuck was born, raised, and educated in Lawrence.  He worked as a waiter for 31 years at Bishop’s Restaurant in Lawrence. Bishop’s was not only a place of work, but it was like a second home to him where he made many lifelong friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends, especially his bus boys many of whom remained close to this day. Chuck cherished his friendship with them. They were more like sons that he never had.

Not one for organized clubs, Chuck preferred Rockingham Racetrack, where he frequented to meet with his friends. He loved the horses and sports in general. He stayed in close contact with his neighborhood friends with whom he met weekly at local breakfast spots.

Chuck was a selfless, caring man who had many friends. He was adored by the many people he touched along his path of life, his family especially. He also held a special place in his heart for Patricia and Sean Corey. Chuck will be deeply missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol (Kane) Monaco, Chuck Monaco is survived by his daughter, Concetta Lakos and her husband Christopher of Salem, NH; and his cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Ariana Lakos. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 4, 2020 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
