George Arthur Bruun Obituary

George Arthur Bruun, 89, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Valle Vista Manor.    George was born in Appam, North Dakota, June 25, 1931 to Fred Iver and Olive (Puffer) Bruun, the last of their 9 children.  George began his working career as a ranch hand.  It was during this time that he met his wife, Johanna “Jody” Geary.  They were married on July 31, 1950 in Red Lodge, Montana.  George then drove truck for 15 years before working at the USG Gypsum plant mine for 20 years.  He started as a rock hauler and moved up to lead man and explosive blaster.  After a layoff, he went back to driving truck for another 20 years.  George had horses his whole life and loved to drive his teams.  George is survived by his children: George O. (Charmain) Bruun, Martin Iver Bruun, Dale Dean Bruun, and Debbie (Dan) Steiner; 5 grandkids; and 5 great-grandkids.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Jody; grandson, Levi Steiner; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Bruun.  A viewing will be held at Creel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3rd, 11:00 to 12:00.  A graveside service will follow at Central Montana Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.  Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.  George’s family and friends can share memories and condolences at www.creelfuneralhome.com
