Obituary

Garold Campbell, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 28, 2020, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Garold was born at home on October 18, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to James and Elida (Frandsen) Campbell. His childhood was spent in Idaho Falls where he attended Hawthorne and Emerson Elementary grade schools. The family moved to Victor, Idaho, where they owned a ranch. He helped with haying, with the horses, goats, cattle, and all of the day-to-day chores needed to maintain the ranch. Garold was a free spirit, often taking a horse and going up the canyon to be gone for days. On these expeditions, he would hike, camp, and commune with nature.

He later lived near Ogden, Utah. Garold worked as a guide for a duck club, taking members out on Willard Bay in an air boat to hunt. He was interested in guns and reloading. He loved to hunt and be in the outdoors. He also built guns and did gunsmith quality work on them.

In 1962, he met and married the love of his life, Anita Cramer. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the Church, he held the position of Elder's Quorum 2nd Counselor of the High Priests. Garold also became a Master Mechanic, working for Fresh Pak and Roger Brothers. He was also an expert welder, and he contracted welding work with large oil companies all over the country. He also spent much time working on the genealogy of his forebears. He also loved to cook and regularly spoiled his family friends with his excellent cuisine.

Garold and Anita had 5 children: Robert (Kay) Campbell of Idaho Falls, Margaret Luna of Idaho Falls, James (Tasha) Campbell of Idaho Falls, Catherine (Aaron) Wingert of Foster City, CA, and Matthew Campbell of Idaho Falls.
