DeLarris Reeves Obituary

DeLarris “Dee” Adkinson Reeves, 83, of Pensacola, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. Mrs. Reeves was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, December 10, 1936, to Herbert and Buris “Bea” Adkinson. She attended school at Allentown, graduated from the School of Nursing at the University of Alabama and received her Masters in Nursing Education from the Ida Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University. In 2019 she received the Living Legacy Award from the Ida Moffett School of Nursing. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Reeves; her parents; a brother, M E Adkinson; and sisters, Jean Singletary and Joan Lites. She is survived by her son, Walter Peters, of Pensacola; her daughter, Sherry Kern, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a brother, Dennis Adkinson, of Jay, Florida; a sister, Janet (Steve) Benton of Pace, Florida; and a grandson, Max Dunaway, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Funeral Services for Mrs. Reeves will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Glen Adkison officiating. There will be a private burial in the Calvary Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the staff of Azalea Trace Willowbrook Court for their care of Mrs. Reeves.
