John was born on October 2, 1929, in Flemington, New Jersey, to the late Samuel and Mary Liskowacki. He graduated from Flemington High School with the class of 1948. John honorably served in the United States Army for 2 years and often spoke of his military experiences in Europe while serving in the Korean War. As a man of many talents, he did everything from farming, carpentry, mechanic work for places such as International Harvester, Swider, Ballantine, Johns Manville, as well as Hunterdon Democrat Newspaper. His skills and eye for detail led him to work as a building inspector for various government offices which he did for the majority of his working career. He was a founding member of the Raritan Township Fire Company, New Jersey in 1958. In 1975, John and the Fire Department were featured in a Schlitz TV Commercial. His younger interests also led him to obtaining his pilot’s license and a small plane. Since staying idle wasn’t an option for John, he enjoyed keeping busy gardening, boating, and water skiing. He spent most of his retirement years in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania until recently moving to North Carolina. More than anything though, he loved spending time with his family and friends which he valued more than anything.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori Yanchok and husband Steve of Arapahoe, NC and Lisa Schnorrbusch and husband David of Stewartsville, NJ; son, John Liskowacki and wife Gina of Stockton, NJ; sister, Helen Rynearson of Ringoes, NJ; grandchildren, Kristin, Michael, Justin, Lucas, Samantha, Emma, Brooklyn, Riley and Johnny; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Liskowacki.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Crystal Coast Hospice House at P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28557 or the First Lutheran Church at PO Box 86, Stewartsville, NJ 08886.
