Dorothy Ordonez Sanchez Barnachia Haley

Dorothy Ordonez Sanchez Barnachia Haley, aged 75, passed peacefully in Riverside, CA, on November 25th, 2020. Born in El Centro, CA, Dorothy moved to Salinas at age 13. Adopted by Alex and Effie Barnachia, Dorothy attended North Salinas High School graduating in 1963. She went on to work for Pacific Telephone in 1968. After a 27-year career at the phone company, Dorothy retired and became the owner and operator of the Salinas-based and locally renowned, Little Pizzarena, home of the square pizza! After a ten-year run, she closed the business and eventually moved to Eastvale, CA. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Starr, and her daughter, Jennifer. Traveling and visiting with friends and family were among the many activities in which she found pleasure. She was well-known for her generosity and kindness towards others. Her couch was always available to friends and family and usually never empty! She was a member of the Filipino Community Center of Salinas and a devoted member of the Valley Baptist church. Dorothy is survived by her brother, John (Paula) Barnachia, sisters Nancy Almquist, Helen (Buddy) Baxley, and Maxine (Wayne) Goulding. She is also survived by her sons, Randy (Cal Long) Quebec, Marvin (Wali) Quebec, Phil (Carrie) Quebec, Darryl Haley, her daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Lorentz, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held 1:00pm to 5:00pm Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901. A Private Memorial Service will be held at Struve and Laporte. A celebration of life will be arranged when conditions permit.
