<h3>Candelaria (Candie) Montoya, 93, of Cordova, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020 at her Albuquerque residence with her children and grandchildren at her bedside.&nbsp; Candie was born in Truchas, New Mexico on October 04, 1927 to Victor and Agueda Martinez. &nbsp;She was a retired social worker in northern New Mexico. &nbsp;Candie was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, New Mexico where she participated as a Eucharistic Minister, a Christian Living Group member, as a Guadalupana member, Women&rsquo;s Cursillo and a member of the Cofrada de La Sagrada Familia.</h3> <h3>Candie was a high school graduate of El Rito Normal High School and later attended the University of Santa Fe where she earned her degree in social work. Candie married her husband of 67 years, Luis Montoya Sr. with whom she had five children. Candie was very proud of her children* Eddie Montoya, *Luis (Lito) Montoya Jr., daughter-in-law Rosella Montoya and her three daughters *Lena Lucero, Kathy M. Trujillo, son-in-law Richard Trujillo, and youngest daughter Dessie Montoya-Soto. She was also survived by her ten grandchildren Marvin Montoya, Eli Velarde, James Montoya, Victor Montoya, Adam Trujillo, * Lynette Lucero, LeAnn Lucero, Lawrence Lucero, Ricardo Luis Trujillo, Luis Miguel Soto, her twenty great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.</h3> <h3>The Montoya family will receive family and friends on Monday, December 07, 2020 at Holy Family Church from 9:30 am-11:00 am in Chimayo, New Mexico.&nbsp; The rosary will be prayed starting at 9:30 am on Monday December 7th, 2020 followed by a Catholic Mass.&nbsp; The internment will take place at 12:45 at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.&nbsp; Due to Covid 19 restrictions the Mass is restricted to 75 people wearing masks and social distancing. The National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM is restricted to 5 immediate family members. Serving the family as pallbearers are James Montoya, Victor Montoya, Luis Miguel Soto, Ricardo Luis Trujillo, Richard Trujillo, and Adam Trujillo.
