TOMLIN: Our beloved Mattie Lee (Mat Lee) Tomlin, was born June 23, 1930 in Macon, Georgia. She grew up in Jeffersonville in Twiggs County Georgia, where she was a member of Williams Chapel CME.

Mattie Lee has driven practically all her adult life. She used to drive a truck of workers to pick peaches and cotton in the 50’s and 60’s. She would drive the school bus in the morning, go work in the school cafeteria, then drive the children back home in the afternoon.

She moved to Jackson, Michigan in 1968. She also drove a school bus there for over 35 years.  She moved back to Georgia in 2003.

Mattie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Tomlin; two sons, Alfred “Bubba” Johnson and Willis “Billy” Tomlin; and her beloved pet, schnauzer of sixteen years, “Zoee”. She leaves to mourn her death her cherished daughter, Patricia Coran of Jonesboro, Georgia; five amazing grandchildren, Terrance (Shante) Johnson, Darius Johnson, D’Amica (Terrence) Evans, Henry Reinecke, and Mackenzie Neese; and many great grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A Service Celebrating her Life & Legacy will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home (Parking Lot), 8968 Fayetteville Road Jonesboro, Georgia. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m.
