Anna M. Mitchell Obituary

MITCHELL - Anna M., 92; Johnstown, peacefully entered heaven on November 29, 2020.  Born July 22, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of the late John and Laura (Tarnosky) Skovensky.  Preceded in death by husband, John L. Mitchell; son, Francis E. Mitchell; sister, Helen Mikulik; and brothers, John, Edward, Francis and Dickey Skovensky.  Survived by brother, Leonard Skovensky, Ohio; and children, Helen M. Liptak, Chesterton, IN; John J. Mitchell and wife Carol of Vintondale; and Joann L. Lacko and husband Raymond, Johnstown.  Also survived by grandchildren, Kenneth and Scott Liptak; Kelly Marines; Melissa Nolfi; Krystyn Farabaugh; Francis and Raymond Lacko Jr.; and great grandchildren, Evan and Caleb Liptak; Jacob, Madison and Ethen Marines; Mitchell, Dylan and Katya Dishong; Grant and Kenadee Farabaugh; Alena and Alivia Lacko; and Morna Haluska.  Anna was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma and great-grandma; as well as an excellent homemaker.  She opened her home and heart to family and friends, always with a festive flair, deliciously prepared meals especially her baked goods and elaborate sweet treats.  She would bake dozens of cookies for all family events, making sure her grandchildren and great grandchildren had beautifully decorated cookies and candy for every holiday occasion.  She was a lifelong member of the former St. Casimir Catholic Church and member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, as she lived her life as a faith-filled woman.  She will be sadly missed by her loving family and her BINGO Buddies at Valley Pike Manor, especially Shirley Machowski, “The Candy Lady”.   There will be no public viewing or visitation.  Private Services for family, however, a Memorial Mass will be planned in the future.  Arrangements by Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Gualbert Cathedral or to ASCERA Hospice Care in memory of Anna Mitchell.
