Douglas Hatcher Obituary

Douglas Hatcher, 67, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on November 29, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

There will be a visitation from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Cremation will follow, with burial at a later date in the Vernon Cemetery.

Born on August 14, 1953, in Columbus, Douglas was the loving son of Herbert and Anna (Odle) Hatcher. He was united in marriage to Debra McInteer on October 25, 1997. She survives.

Douglas worked for 47 years before retiring at Arvins Industries. He loved to fish and go gambling. Most of all his favorite pass time was spending time with family and friends and relaxing after his retirement.

In addition to is wife, Debra Hatcher of North Vernon, survivors include sons, James (Alisha) Hatcher of Columbus, and Tony (Gail) Cathey of Gulf Port, FL; daughters, Angie (Larry) Burton of Hayden, Missy (Dan) Weller of Pelzer, SC, and Kay (Jeremy) Endsley of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Darrell (Glenna) Hatcher of Columbus, and Dennis Hatcher of Bedford; sisters, Mary Lane of Winder, GA, Sue (James) Pedigo of Columbus, and Diane (Jerry) Grimes of Bedford; grandchildren, Alyssa and Samantha Scrogham, Alexa Cathey, Kayla Browning, Sierra Endsley, Jenessa and Amy Weller; great grandchildren, Lexi and Jaxon James, Grayson Leonard, and Sophie Browning.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Anna Hatcher.
