John Meridith House, Jr.

John Meridith House Jr., age 60, of Lockwood, Missouri, passed away at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at the Willard Care Center in Willard, Missouri. He was born August 28, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of John Meridith and Doris Lee (Gromer) House Sr. John worked as a journeyman plumber in Texas, before moving to Missouri. On August 28, 1995, he married Carol Ann Steffen in Lockwood, Missouri. John is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol, his four children, Sherry Hull and husband, David, of Lockwood, Charles Delaney and wife, Brenda, of Stockton, Missouri, Jaime Delaney-Stevens and husband, Darrell, of Walnut, Iowa, Renae Griffin and husband, Pat, of Omaha, Nebraska; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; step dad, James Morton, of Red Oak, Texas; three brothers, Kenny House, Doug Morton and Eddie House and three sisters, Ruth Knight, Pam Davis and Jolee Morton, all of Texas and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris, daughter, Betty Parham, sister, Darla Odell and stepmom, Judy Morton. Johnny Popper lived in a community of family made up of his wife, Carol; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and David Hull; grandsons, Jerry and David Hull, Jr.; granddaughter and husband, Amber and Josh Alley and great-grandkids, Ariana, Noah, Magnolia and Evan, to them he was everything. Popper love to be outdoors and loved playing with his great grandkids. He enjoyed a good bar-b-que and loved visiting with others. Johnny was a big giant teddy bear in the eyes of those that really knew him. His best friends besides his wife was his great- granddaughter, Ariana Hull. They played everything from barbies to cards. He loved to spoil everyone, but especially the little ones. Johnny adored his wife, Carol, for the 25 years that they were married. His greatest sorrow was her getting ill in July and not being able to see her except through a window. He suffered from Alzheimer’s and it all left him broken. It was an honor and blessing taking care of you for the past five years. You will be greatly missed Popper. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
