<p>Phyllis (Mercer) Ferrare 65, Youngstown, (formerly of Salem) died at 4:05 AM Friday, November 27, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital/Mercy Medical in Youngstown.</p> <p>She was born on July 17, 1955 in Salem, the daughter of the late Ray and Aurelia (Burson) Mercer.</p> <p>Phyllis, formerly of Salem was a member of the Freedom Church (First Free Methodist Church) Cornersburg, Oh., and the Salem First Friends Church. She was last employed at Giant Eagle in Canfield and Edlings Store at Guilford Lake.</p> <p>She was a 1973 graduate of Salem High School and attended Mount Union College.</p> <p>Phyllis had several unique things that made her happy in life. She was a classic bargain shopper. She could put many miles on in a day to go and find the best deals in stores, garage sales or anywhere else. A big collector of &ldquo;stuff&rdquo;, like teddy bears and other collectibles. The ultimate holiday for her was Christmas. She made her home into a wonderland with nearly 7 trees fully decorated. The number one thing she made time for was the grandchildren. She loved them all very much and made sure they all knew it.</p> <p>She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Richard Ferrare whom she married on October 21, 1995, her children, Dave R. (Jacqueline) Mercer of Salem, Tiffany (Ralph) Spotleson of Leetonia and Adam Mercer of Youngstown, siblings; Ted (Ruby) Gilmer of Leola, PA., Vicki Redeipening of Lake Havasva, AZ., Marcia (Rick) Whiteleather of N. Benton, Her twin Phil (Alora) Mercer of Hastings, FL., Ray Mercer of Medford, OR., Ann (Jeff) Fought of Edinburg, OH., and Lynn (Rick) Finch of Salem, five grandchildren; Zander Ray Mercer, Ralph Dru Spotleson III, Ryan Gage Spotleson, Rileigh Noelle Spotleson and Ziva Rae Mercer, and number six on the way.</p> <p>A time of visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, 2020, from 5 &ndash; 7 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Rose officiating. The burial will immediately follow in Lisbon Cemetery.</p> <p>The family has kindly asked that donations be made to the American Heart or Kidney Foundation.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
