Rita M. Smith, 74, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of November 29, 2020 at UPMC Jameson.

She was born in New Castle on May 23, 1946 to the late Joseph P. and Irene R. DiCicco Offredo.

On November 22, 1969 Rita married her beloved husband, Daniel B. Smith, Sr. He survives at home.

Rita had worked in the dietary department at the former St. Francis Hospital.

She was a member of Independent Methodist Church.

Rita enjoyed going to bingo and playing games on her computer. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rita’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her children, Daniel B. Smith, Jr. (Pamela) and Renee Womer (Jimmy) all of New Castle, her sister, Rachel Audia of New Castle, and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Offredo and sister, Marie Offredo.

Due to the current health crisis in our community, a Private Service will be held at Independent Methodist Church. Rev. Frederick Gilbert will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
