Lou Jean Moss Obituary

Lou Jean was one of eleven children; she was born on October 3, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Calvin and Jessie Mable (Potter) Fowler; she went to her heavenly home in Claremore on November 27, 2020 at the age of 91. Jean grew up and attended school in Tulsa, graduating from Webster High School. She married the love of her life, Bill Moss, on August 19, 1946. Jean and Bill moved around to various places during their 72 year marriage due to Bill being a Methodist minister. She took on the role of the minister’s wife at each and every place they were called and organized church activities, meals, vacation bible school and other special church events. When she wasn’t helping Bill, she was a homemaker. Jean loved being in the kitchen, cooking and baking for her family. She was a very creative person who loved oil painting and was an avid quilter. She taught oil painting classes for a time and also entered her quilts into local county and state fairs. When Bill retired, they enjoyed traveling with friends to many places all over the United States; they also loved taking their grandkids on special trips any chance they could. Bill passed away 2018 and Jean has been living in Claremore for the past four years. Jean lived a life pleasing to the Lord; she was a faithful servant with a servant’s heart anywhere she went. She was a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Claremore. Jean is survived by three children; daughter Susie Moss and husband Bruce Daniels of Gulfport, Florida; son, Danny Joe Moss and wife Annette of Hobart, Oklahoma and son, Phil Moss and wife Kathleen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Donna Wilson of Broken Arrow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents and nine siblings.
