Ernestine Tarrant Arlington, Texas Obituary

Ernestine Tarrant

Ernestine Farmer Tarrant, 95, of Arlington, Texas, went to Heaven on Friday, November 27, 2020. She was born to the late Gilmer and Zora Farmer in Dawson, Texas, on August 9,1925. She met her husband, Jack Tarrant, and married on November 18, 1945 and built a beautiful life together for 57 years. She spent most of her days as a homemaker in Jacksonville, Tyler, and Arlington, Texas. She was the mother of 2 children, a daughter, Jackie and a son, Tim. She loved and cared deeply for her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Her pecan pies became a family tradition, one her grandchildren requested each holiday. She was an amazing typist on the old manual typewriters and later on the computer keyboards. She loved to read self-help and instructional articles. She once re-formatted the hard drive on her computer by following the manual’s guidelines. She was an excellent seamstress making both her daughter’s prom dress and 27 years later, her granddaughter’s prom dress. Dachshunds were her favorite pets. “Prissy” cuddled with her on every afternoon nap and coffee time on the covered patio. She was a positive thinker always trusting God in her life’s journey. Her favorite scripture she would often share with others was Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” She would follow up with “worry cannot add one day to your life.” She was a funny, peppy, and joyful person. Her 4’11” stature was a powerhouse of energy for all those around her, doing little dances as she entered her salons of hairdresser or manicurist. She loved to dress with matching blings, shoes, and outfits. She never thought of herself as better than another person, ever. Ernestine was proceeded in death by her husband, Jack Tarrant, son, Timothy Tarrant, parents, Gilmer and Zora Farmer, brother, John Farmer and sister Geraldine Martinitis She is survived by her daughter Jackie Erwin (Bobby Erwin), Grandchildren: Holly Chandler (Tony Chandler) , Mark Erwin, Clint Tarrant (Andrea Tarrant), Chris Tarrant (Liz Tarrant), Great Grandchildren, Will, Brooke and Chloe Chandler, Elias, Amelia, Lucia, and Kinley, Madelyn and Grayson Tarrant and her niece Vivian Ferguson. Pallbearers, Clint Tarrant, Chris Tarrant, Mark Erwin, Tony Chandler, Will Chandler, Bobby Erwin In lieu of flowers, her family has suggested donations be sent to Ernie’s favorite charity, the Hearts and Hands food and clothing ministry in care of Woodland West Church of Christ, 3101 West Park Row, Arlington, Texas, 76013.
