William "Billy" A. Jurek

<p style="text-align: center;">William A. &ldquo;Billy&rdquo; Jurek, 91, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, November 28, 2020.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">The son of the late Peter and Caroline (Slomba) Jurek, William was born in Methuen on November 16, 1929. He was educated in Methuen schools and was a graduate of Searles High School in Methuen.&nbsp; He enlisted into the U. S. Army and &nbsp;proudly served in the Korean War, as a Staff Sergeant.&nbsp; William was employed as a layout operator at Western Electric, later AT&amp;T in North Andover, for over 40 years until his retirement.&nbsp; Upon his retirement, he spent his leisure time in St. Petersburg, FL, until returning back to Dracut.&nbsp; He was a member of the Polish-American Veterans of Lowell, and served as commander of the post for several years.&nbsp; An avid lover of gardening and outdoors, his later years were spent enjoying the property around his home, with which he took great pride, tending his flower garden and watching the wildlife enjoy the fruits of his efforts.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">Predeceased in death by his parents and siblings along with his daughter, Debbie Bozek, William is survived by his daughter, Karen Ash and her husband Bob; his daughter, Jane Demoulas; son-in-law, Henry (John) Bozek; his grandchildren, Tanya Lemay, Shawna McColligan, Alyssa Demoulas, and Jon Bozek; several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; The family extends a special &nbsp;&ldquo;Thank You&rdquo; to&nbsp; Jennifer Chalifoux for whom Billy adored and always made him smile.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dewhirst and Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.&nbsp; Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.&nbsp; Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks must be worn, and social distancing will be observed at all times.</p>

The son of the late Peter and Caroline (Slomba) Jurek, William was born in Methuen on November 16, 1929.
