Mildred Holden, age 96 of Laurinburg, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Mildred was born June 29, 1924 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late Stephen John Smith and Mable Caulder Smith.  She retired from Eaton Corporation and served as a member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church.  Mildred enjoyed spending time with her family, coloring, yard work and decorating.  She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Bledso, Bertha Cox, Patricia Smith; and great grandson Cory Robert McMillan.

Mildred is survived by her son, Steve Holden (Gerry) of Laurinburg; daughter, Joyce Holden Ray (Bob) of Aberdeen; sisters, Frances “Bootsie” Witten and Grace Russo, both of Laurinburg, grandchildren, David McMillan, Robin McMillan, Pat Holden, Becky Snipes, Sarah Holden; eleven great grandchildren and twenty-one great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at graveside at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Old Hillside Cemetery.
